Free Shipping Within South Africa
All orders ship free to any address in South Africa. No minimums, no surprises at checkout.
We're based in Johannesburg and use trusted courier partners to get your piece to you safely, wherever you are in the country.
Made to Order
Every Watson & Bailey piece is made to order in our Johannesburg studio. We don't hold ready-made stock. Whether you're ordering from our standard collection or commissioning something bespoke, your piece is built from scratch with the same care throughout.
Production and Delivery Timeframes
Standard collection items (Arch shelves, side tables, console table, bookcase) typically take 2 to 3 weeks to complete from when your order is placed.
Custom and commission orders vary depending on complexity and our current workshop schedule. We'll give you an estimated completion date at the time of quoting and keep you updated as the work progresses.
Once your piece is finished and dispatched, delivery times are roughly as follows:
- Gauteng: 1 to 2 business days
- Major centres (Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth): 2 to 4 business days
- Outlying and remote areas: 3 to 7 business days
These are estimates, not guarantees. We'll let you know as soon as your piece ships, and give you a heads up if anything changes along the way.
Packaging
We pack everything carefully for the journey. Bigger pieces like the console table and bookcase get crated or boxed specifically for transit. The packaging can be a bit of a mission to get into, but that's intentional.
If there's anything we should know about your delivery address (a narrow gate, no lift access, that sort of thing), let us know beforehand so we can plan around it.
Delivery
Someone needs to be available to receive the delivery. Our couriers will be in touch to arrange a window that works.
A few things to note: couriers will deliver to your front door, but getting the piece into position inside is on you, so it's worth clearing the space beforehand. Our delivery partners won't attempt deliveries that risk damaging the piece, such as hoisting over a balcony. If a delivery attempt is missed, re-delivery fees may apply.
Inspection on Receipt
Have a proper look at your piece when it arrives. If anything is damaged, whether it's the packaging or the item itself, get in touch within 48 hours at info@watsonandbailey.co.za and include photos. See our Refund Policy for how we handle those situations.
Risk passes to you once the piece has been delivered or collected.
Collection
If you're in Johannesburg and would rather collect from the studio, you're welcome to. Just get in touch to arrange a time. Collection is free.
Outlying Areas
We ship everywhere in South Africa, including rural and remote locations. Delivery to outlying areas can take a bit longer, and in some cases we may need to ask you to collect from the nearest courier depot. We'll let you know upfront if that applies to your address.
International Shipping
We currently only ship within South Africa. If you're based abroad and interested in a piece, get in touch and we can talk through options.
